Step of Faith

What happens when we put our small steps of faith into the hands of our mighty God? In Matthew’s Gospel, there are five times when Jesus talks about his followers having ‘little faith.' we can often read and hear this phrase as a term of derision or rebuke, but that doesn’t match with how Jesus responds to them. Whenever his disciples demonstrate even a small measure of faith in him, Jesus always responds by showing them something amazing about who he is!

This week Rob Collis continues our series, Small and Mighty, by looking at Matthew 14.22-33, when Jesus walked on water and his disciple Peter got out of a boat to follow him. There are three times in this passage when it says Jesus does something ‘immediately” – as we look at this together, Rob traces these three “Immediately’s” of Jesus – as Jesus Immediately Sends, Immediately Speaks, and Immediately Saves.
