Faith & Anxiety
August 2, 2026 | Matthew 6.25-34 | Rob Collis
What happens when we put our small steps of faith into the hands of our mighty God? In Matthew’s Gospel, there are five times when Jesus talks about his followers having ‘little faith.' we can often read and hear this phrase as a term of derision or rebuke, but that doesn’t match with how Jesus responds to them. Whenever his disciples demonstrate even a small measure of faith in him, Jesus always responds by showing them something amazing about who he is!
This week, Rob Collis concludes our series, Small and Mighty, by looking at Matthew 6.25-34. In this well-known passage, Jesus challenges us to sort out our priorities. Three times, he tells us “do not be anxious” – instead, we are to trust and rest in the provision and care of heavenly Father. As we unpack this passage, Rob explores two questions: What is faith, according to the Bible? And What does faith have to do with anxiety?
