Godliness with Contentment

October 18, 2026 | 1 Timothy 6.3-10 | Jude Johnson

It’s often said that money is the root of all evil. But that’s not what the Bible really says. It says the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Because what we desire most in life will ultimately inform what we do, and become our justification for how we live.

This week we welcome back Jude Johnson from the Artizo Institute, who begins our new series “From & For You.” Jude preaches from 1 Timothy 6.3-10 where Paul writes about the trap of wealth, and how it competes for our desires for God. For followers of Jesus, our greatest desire is Jesus – and because we love him more, our lives become a journey of laying aside every other love, as we give our lives and all that we have back to him. That’s why we say every week, “All things come from you, O Lord, and of your own have we given you.”
