A Song of Resilience
September 6, 2026 | Psalm 129 | Rob Collis
It’s been said there are only sacred moments and moments we have forgotten are sacred. The Christian season of Ordinary Time accounts for more than half of the year. This season points to something important about the Christian life: God wants to meet us with his grace in the everyday realities of our life. During the time of the Old Testament, God’s people remembered this over and over again. Three times a year, they would go on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem – but they didn’t make that journey in silence! They turned to the Psalms to create a road trip playlist of songs for the journey.
This week, Rob Collis preaches from Psalm 129. Psalm 129 is a song of resilience. In our journey of faith, this is a song that keeps going in the face of hardships, oppression, and fierce resistance. As Rob unpacks this song, explores two questions: What was the difficulty they faced? And how did they endure?
