Out Into The Deep

This week, we are excited to welcome Bishop Mike Stewart, who preaches for us from Luke 5.1-11. In this passage, Jesus stood up on a boat to speak to a crowd – but after he taught, he wasn’t done. He then told Simon Peter and his friends to cast their fishing nets out into the deep, instructing them to fish at a time when it didn’t make any sense at all; but when they did what he said, they were overwhelmed with the catch!

As he unpacks this account, Bishop Mike invites us to consider how Jesus is inviting us to trust him, and how our church can ‘put our nets out into the deep’ as we seek to grow a caring community transformed by Jesus.
